CPB Projections on Dutch Economy in 2021
CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis predicts that the Dutch economy will grow by nearly 3% in 2021, following a contraction of over 4% in 2020. Published on 26 November 2020, CPB prediction assumes that the epidemic will be under control in Europe in the first half of the new year. The currently projected economic growth rates are slightly higher for 2020 and slightly lower for 2021 than the previous projection of last September.

Poll 5 Results.
Stichting MKB Financiering and ONL released the results of their Poll 5 on financing of Dutch enterprises. The recent poll indicates a dichotomy for SMEs in emerging from the corona crisis. While 45% of companies are already making plans to start investing in the short term, the number of entrepreneurs with acute liquidity problems has doubled to 27% since the second lockdown.

Alternatives Report 2020
Funds Europe, in collaboration with Jersey Finance, published the Alternatives Report 2020. This is the first year they have delivered such a survey together with the aim of mapping out potential directions for the alternative fund management sector. This survey sheds light on the evolution of the sector and provides some clarity about the managers’ expectations from their partner jurisdictions to help get their funds to market seamlessly, cost-effectively and robustly.

Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs 2020: An OECD Scoreboard
OECD’s Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs 2020 Report highlights that SMEs are increasingly turning to alternative financing instruments and that these instruments are receiving increasing attention from regulators and policy makers. The Report resents key recent trends in SME and entrepreneurship finance; provides an overview of developments in government policy in this area; and offers recommendations to further improve the evidence base. The report provides information for 48 countries worldwide.

The Global Alternative Finance Market Benchmarking Report
For the first time, the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) has consolidated its annual regional reports to produce one global benchmarking report, with the intention of presenting worldwide online alternative finance data for 2018. Published in April 2020, this report presents the key findings from an annual global survey of online alternative finance.

European Environmental, Social, and Governance Investing 2020
Europe ESR 2020 Report by Cerulli Associates shows an increasing demand by asset owners for proof that asset managers have sustainability embedded into their firm culture. While the climate change is the most important ESG issue in Europe, nearly 70% of European asset owners who took part in the survey do not set targets to reduce climate-related risks, such as carbon-footprint. The survey also finds that more than 60% of the respondents plan to switch to more active investment approaches to improve ESG integration over the next five years.
